This article will cover how you can install or uninstall Endpoint Backup Desktop on Windows or Mac.
Requirements
- An Endpoint Backup Team
- Created users
- A Team Admin login so you can find the Team key
The Process
Install Endpoint Backup Desktop
- Click the download link in your Endpoint Backup welcome email or as a reseller log into your Endpoint Backup Manager and click the image below that appears in the top right hand corner
- Download Endpoint Backup Desktop
- Follow on screen instructions to complete install
- Enter the team key. Please see How To Find Team Key
Uninstall Endpoint Backup Desktop
Windows
- Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features
- Select Autotask Endpoint Backup and click Uninstall
- You will receive a pop-up asking 'Would you like to retain the user configuration settings?'
- If you intend to reinstall Endpoint Backup Desktop and want to keep the same account information select Yes. If you are going to reinstall as a different account click No
Mac
- Click the icon in the menu bar then select Preferences
- Click the About tab
- Click Uninstall
- You will receive a pop-up asking 'Would you like to retain the user configuration settings?'
- If you intend to reinstall Endpoint Backup Desktop and want to keep the same account information select Yes. If you are going to reinstall as a different account click No
Uninstall when running multiple instances of Endpoint Backup Desktop on one machine
When uninstalling the conventional way, Endpoint Backup Desktop and all files associated with the user performing the uninstall are removed from the machine. In a scenario in which multiple instances of Endpoint Backup Desktop are running under different user accounts on one machine, the process below can be used to only remove the files associated with the user performing this process - the application will remain installed, allowing the other user accounts to continue to use Endpoint Backup as they normally would.
To remove the Endpoint Backup account from a single Windows user account:
- Open the Run command dialog
- Enter aeb:reset
- Click OK
The standard uninstall dialog will appear. Just select No in the first dialog box to remove all the supporting files related to the Endpoint Backup Desktop instance installed under this Windows user profile.
